It sounds like something you wish was on Hybrid Theory, because the style of the song would fit right in. With "And One" LP deliver what is probably thier longest song (after "Part Of Me," which also on this EP). The lyric for the chorus is straightforward on this tip, with Mike dishing out: "Who can rock a rhyme like this/Bring it to you every time like this/Who can rock a rhyme like this/Step, step up, step, step up." Hell yeah! It's a total fist waving entry. The track "Step Up" is pretty much all Mike Shinoda, talking about the various posers who say they can rap and the way record companies buy into the hip-hop hype. It's still a good track I've always enjoyed the instrumental breaks that are included on an LP's albums. It's more similar to "Cure For The Itch" from Hybrid Theory than "Session" from Meteora.

I've heard two versions of the song: a 42-second teaser, and the full version, which clocks in at somewhere around 3 and a half minutes. Joe Hahn doing what he does best: kicking any and all a$$ on the turntables. With "Technique" we get to hear Chairman/Mr. The first verse sounds an awful lot like a girl dealing with a drug addiction. To me, it is a perfect example of what Mike Shinoda (the MC) and Chester Bennington (the singer) have often said their songs are about: everyday life, and the struggles and problems therein. "Carousel" is the opening track of the album, and strikes me as somewhere between "Numb" from Meteora and Crawling from Hybrid Theory. These six tracks are "Carousel," "Technique," "Step Up," "And One," "High Voltage," and "Part Of Me" (there's also a supposed 'hidden track' lurking on the record, as well). (You don't have to pay those outrageous prices, however, as I got the tracks courtesy of The Hybrid Theory EP, as the name implies, isn't really an album. But why, you may ask, is this album being sold for so much dough? Because it is Linkin Park's first album, per se. I've checked at both and eBay and both sites list the CD for over $100 a pop. The Hybrid Theory EP isn't an album you'll find very easily.
